Brahms had a sense of humor. At the end of a dinner, the guests were enjoying the bouquet of a particularly fine wine. The host held up his glass and said expansively, "What Brahms is among the composers, so is this Rauenthaler among the wines." Without missing a beat, Brahms retorted, "Ah, then let's have a bottle of Bach now."
